Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to ensure the seaworthiness of our vessels, meeting company, charterer, and class standards while continuously reducing the annual maintenance budget. You will manage planned maintenance activities, dry docking, and provide hands-on problem solving for technical issues across the fleet. Reporting to the GM Technical Operations, you will act as the key liaison between the business and vessel technical managers, driving operational excellence and cost-effective vessel operations. Experience worked aboard a vessel and transitioned from Offshore to Onshore and work likely as an Assistant Technical Superintendent for a minimum of 3 years Experience with AHTS, MPSV, SCV Hands on with DP systems DO NOT NEED Tanker or Cargo Experience Experience working with multiple fleets of vessels Worked aboard a vessel and rose to position of Chief Engineer on the vessel.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact between the company and vessel technical managers on all technical and operational matters.
• Review and approve work scopes and material requisitions submitted by technical managers.
• Monitor defects, ensure timely close-out, and compile weekly reports from vessel managers.
• Ensure vessels meet Class, Marine, and Charterer requirements; support QHSE with planning of surveys and inspections.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of goods and spares to support quick vessel turnaround.
• Monitor and analyze the technical status of all vessels and report summaries to stakeholders.
• Develop and implement the Planned Maintenance System (PMS), ensuring all maintenance jobs are logged and followed up.
• Conduct root cause investigations for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage annual maintenance budgets, monitor spend, and report on fuel and lube oil consumption.
• Prepare and supervise dry-docking scopes, source vendors, and manage critical spares inventory.

Requirements

Required:

• 10-15 years’ experience as a Marine Engineer.
• Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent (mandatory).
• Technical Superintendency license.
• Extensive knowledge of the marine, tugboat, oil transportation, and shipping industry.
• Knowledge of vessel maintenance systems and equipment.
• Ability to make decisions and give clear directions.
• Physically fit to board vessels, barges, and tugs at sea and in port.
• Willingness to travel to out ports.
• Preferred
• Offshore sailing experience.
• Valid Certificate of Competency (COC).
