About the Role Technical Superintendent / Port Engineer at Nestoil Group’s Shipping Company – White Dove. You will ensure full technical readiness and optimum vessel performance to meet service commitments, lead multi-functional teams including crew HR processes, and maintain vessels in a safe, seaworthy condition in line with Classification Society and Flag State requirements. What You'll Do
- Coordinate and control supply of spare parts and vessel equipment.
- Provide guidance and solutions to technical issues to ensure full technical readiness and optimum vessel performance.
- Lead technical expertise in emergency response situations.
- Promote safety and safe working practices as an operational necessity.
- Communicate effectively across all levels about significant operational/technical issues affecting vessel availability.
- Plan, coordinate and monitor maintenance programmes and dry-docking.
- Maintain proper operational records.
- Inspect vessels regularly for compliance with Safety, Environmental Protection and Hygiene per International Safety Management Code.
- Assist crew during troubleshooting.
- Monitor vessel status, maintenance, and repair needs on short, medium and long term horizons.
- Develop the annual technical department budget.
- Arrange closure of deficiencies found in vetting, PSC inspections, Charterers inspections, P&I Club surveys, etc. What We're Looking For
- A degree from a Nautical Institution (Certificate of Competency STCW Regulation III/2).
- 5 years seagoing experience as engineer officer with a minimum of 2 in the rank of Chief Engineer on tankers; waivers possible if other relevant shipyard/new-building/classification society experience.
- Preferably at least 3 years’ experience as a technical superintendent in tanker management or background as Naval Architect or Marine/Mechanical Engineer with shipping company and classification society experience.
- Essential high level English (written and spoken).
- Decision-making and leadership skills.
- Ability to work with people from multi-ethnic backgrounds and manage multiple tasks with good organizational skills.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Commitment to working outside office hours.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
