About the Role The Technical Studies Adjunct Instructor is a part-time, in-person role at Liberty University, delivering electrical trades instruction using the NCCER curriculum at an off-campus site in Altavista, VA. The position emphasizes hands-on lab activities to prepare students for a career in the electrical field and supports Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ.
What You'll Do
- Classroom instruction and management
- Lab instruction and management
- Be able to perform and supervise trade-related work
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Work with classroom-related technology (Canvas, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies and represent the University professionally
- Work as part of LU’s Christian model and mission
- Supervising lab assistants, where applicable
What We're Looking For
- Minimum four years of field experience and a journeyman's electrical license (residential and commercial)
- Industry-recognized licenses or certifications; college degree preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; proficient English
- Strong organizational and computer skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- May require travel; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; capable of hands-on trade tasks

Compensation & Benefits

- Pay rate: $800 per load hour (USD); hourly
