About the Role We are seeking a Cloud Architect/Technical Specialist to support enterprise cloud transformation initiatives, focusing on migrating M&A applications from Landing Zones into the AMEX Target Zone on AWS. The role will drive AWS automation and platform engineering to improve developer experience, operational efficiency, and cloud standardization. You will collaborate with Platform, Infrastructure, Security, and Engineering teams to design scalable, secure, and automated cloud solutions using AWS and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), supporting modernization, governance, and enterprise cloud adoption.
What You'll Do
- Lead migration of applications from Landing Zones to the AMEX Target Zone on AWS.
- Drive AWS automation and platform engineering initiatives to improve developer experience and efficiency.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, automated cloud solutions using AWS and Terraform.
- Collaborate with Platform, Infrastructure, Security, and Engineering teams to ensure governance and compliance.
- Contribute to modernization efforts and establish cloud standards across the enterprise.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in AWS cloud architecture and migration programs.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Docker; strong software development background.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
- Familiarity with landing zones, target zones, and enterprise cloud adoption patterns.
- Relevant certifications in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, or Docker (a plus).
- Strong collaboration, security-minded, and ability to work across multiple teams.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $77,000 – $188,000 per year.
