About this role
Job title: Technical Sales Engineer - High Temperature Furnaces
About the Role MRF designs and supplies high-temperature furnace components including graphite heating elements, ceramic hot zones, thermocouples, power cables, and insulators. In this role you will work with customers to specify and apply these components, translate requirements into technical guidance, and support the sales process from inquiry to order.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical guidance on MRF temperature control products including graphite heating elements (up to 3000°C), graphite shields, fibrous insulation, ceramic hot zones (MoSi2 up to 1650°C; NiCr, Kanthal, Inconel variants), and vacuum seals.
- Advise customers on insulation and protective components (fibrous alumina silicate insulation, ceramic insulators, ceramic washers, tubes, gaskets) and vacuum feed-throughs.
- Generate accurate specifications, datasheets, and support quotations; coordinate with engineering to ensure proper application fit.
- Support after-sales service by recommending spare parts (seals, insulators, thermocouples, power cables, feed-throughs) and replacement parts.
- Stay current with MRF product lines and assist in crafting complete furnace solutions for high-temperature applications.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of high-temperature furnace components, including graphite heating elements (up to 3000°C), graphite shields, ceramic hot zones (MoSi2 up to 1650°C; NiCr at 1200°C; Kanthal up to 1700°C; Inconel up to 1000°C), vacuum seals, and related hardware.
- Familiarity with insulators, ceramic parts, gaskets, and thermocouples; ability to interpret specifications and data sheets.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills with a capacity to translate technical capabilities into practical solutions.
- Degree in materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience with high-temperature furnace equipment or related industrial applications.
- Familiarity with water-cooled power cables and feed-through assemblies.
