About the Role We are seeking a Technical Lead with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with client stakeholders and offshore teams. This role involves hands-on software development on the JVM with a strong preference for Java and delivering tasks for offshore delivery while designing scalable cloud-based solutions.
What You'll Do
- Hands-on development on the JVM with Java preference and delivery of tasks to offshore teams
- Design and optimize access to relational databases such as Aurora and Oracle
- Develop software that runs in the Cloud with AWS technologies (ECS, Lambda, SQS, RDS)
- Create containerized solutions with Docker
- Build software that interacts with messaging systems such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, and Kafka
- Create RESTful APIs for frontend teams and external partners
- Create infrastructure with Terraform or CloudFormation
- Use Git for version control
- Ensure performance, security, reliability, and monitoring in a multi-tenant SaaS platform
- Document and communicate design decisions so teammates understand trade-offs
- Be an active participant in an Agile Scrum team (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Coordinate with product management to estimate, refine, and plan the product roadmap
- Use test-driven development to ensure software correctness
- Instrument and monitor software to meet performance expectations and plan changes as needed
- Integrate our software with internal and external systems to increase business value
- Create RESTful APIs for frontend and external partners to access data
- Keep issue tracking software up-to-date
- Participate in peer design and code reviews
- Mentor junior team members in debugging, testing strategies, design, and on-time delivery
