About this role

Objective

Engage an experienced technical marketing writer who can translate complex engineering concepts into accurate, compelling, and commercially valuable content. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical comprehension with exceptional writing skills to develop content that communicates the capabilities, applications, and value of advanced computing and engineering solutions to technically sophisticated audiences.

This role requires more than traditional marketing writing. The writer must be comfortable working alongside engineers, asking detailed technical questions, interpreting complex information, and developing content that maintains engineering accuracy while clearly communicating the business and operational value of the technology.

Profile Overview

The ideal writer has a strong technical background (engineering, SATCOM, RF, or similar) and can confidently translate complex systems into compelling marketing content. This writer should be comfortable collaborating with engineers, extracting nuanced information, and producing technically sound thought leadership.

Scope

  • Engagement includes: 100 hour block to be used within 4 months, but ongoing for the correct candidate

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality technical marketing content, including articles, blog posts, monthly newsletters, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, engaging, and technically credible content without oversimplifying the underlying technology.
  • Create content that establishes technical credibility, communicates product differentiation, and supports brand awareness, customer education, and business development.
  • Identify opportunities to turn internal engineering expertise, product capabilities, and industry developments into meaningful marketing content.

Engineering and Technology Communication

  • Research and explain advanced technical topics, including:

  • AI servers, high-performance computing, processing capabilities, and infrastructure.

  • Hypervisors, virtualization, and associated computing architectures.

  • SATCOM systems, antenna control systems, RF technologies, and related engineering principles.

  • Mathematical concepts, algorithms, control systems, and performance considerations relevant to technical products.

  • Component shortages, supply-chain constraints, procurement challenges, and their impact on product availability and industry markets.

  • Work directly with subject matter experts (SMEs), including engineers and sales engineers, to gather technical details, validate assumptions, and ensure content accurately reflects system functionality and capabilities.

  • Ask informed questions, identify gaps in technical information, and collaborate with internal teams to develop complete and defensible technical narratives.

  • Maintain technical accuracy when communicating specifications, system architecture, performance claims, and engineering trade-offs.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong technical background (preferred areas): SATCOM, RF engineering, software or manufacturing engineering, or high-performance computing / AI infrastructure
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex systems and components
  • Experience writing for technical or engineering audiences
  • Comfortable interviewing SMEs (engineers, sales engineers)
  • Strong analytical thinking; familiarity with mathematical concepts is a plus
  • Bonus: Military or DoD-related experience, procurement, or component-level knowledge

About Client

The client specializes in advanced computing and specialized engineering solutions, including high-performance AI servers, hypervisors, and complex computing platforms. Its technologies support demanding applications across defense, Department of Defense (DoD), SATCOM, and other technically sophisticated industries.

The company's products and solutions require a high degree of technical understanding to communicate effectively. Marketing content must go beyond broad product descriptions to explain how systems work, what differentiates them, which technical challenges they address, and why those capabilities matter to customers.

The writer will have the opportunity to work directly with experienced engineers and internal subject matter experts to transform specialized technical knowledge into credible, informative, and strategically valuable content.
