About the Role Sika Corporation is seeking an experienced Technical Director to join its Insulation team in the Dallas, TX area. The Technical Director will establish, implement and enforce all technical policies related to the sale, use and installation of Insulation products and systems, balancing sales potential with risks to support long-term strategic growth. As a member of Insulation’s Management Team, you will help develop and execute the business unit’s strategy, lead the Technical Services Department, and foster effective cross-functional collaboration. You will make well-informed decisions, approve non-standard product applications, and build credibility through industry advocacy, presentations, articles and papers. You will also lead R&D efforts to bring new solutions to market and protect against industry threats.
What You'll Do
- Establish, implement, and enforce technical policies for insulation products and systems.
- Balance sales opportunities against potential risks to support sustainable growth.
- Assist in developing and executing the Insulation business unit strategy; lead and manage the Technical Services Department, including succession planning.
- Foster a culture of teamwork and communication across departments; make data-driven decisions.
- Approve or deny non-standard use or application of company products (e.g., Special Warranty Requests).
- Establish credibility as an industry expert through advocacy, work group participation, presentations, articles and papers.
- Lead R&D efforts to bring new solutions to market and protect against threats in the industry.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent supervisory, communication, organizational and writing skills; knowledge of the insulation industry; willingness to travel.
- At least a 4-year degree in Engineering, Building Construction or Architecture.
- Technical knowledge with 5-10 years of related experience.
- Experience leading trade organization committees, ASTM committees, etc.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
- Strong presentation skills.
