About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Designer to measure samples from the prototype stage through post-production, prepare samples for fittings, and verify construction and quality across garment categories. You will communicate fit and balance issues via pattern diagrams or directly on the pattern, and execute timely fit comments to keep the process aligned with production timelines. You will create clear written and visual comments, lead fit sessions on live models and dress forms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate information, wash and fabric quality, and consensus on fit intent. This onsite role runs Monday–Friday during core business hours.

What You'll Do

• Measure samples from prototype through post-production and prepare for fittings.
• Check construction and quality to ensure samples meet garment category and fabrication standards.
• Communicate fit/balance issues via pattern diagrams or directly on the pattern.
• Create easily understandable fit comments with written and visual methods; escalate issues as needed.
• Lead fit sessions on live models and dress forms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy of information and alignment on fit intent.
• Ensure wash and fabric quality is achieved in collaboration with teams.
• Escalate issues to superiors for input and direction; maintain professional correspondence with domestic and overseas vendors.
• Identify potential product, quality, and costing issues and make appropriate recommendations.
• Track and manage workflow for your own product; prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

What We're Looking For

• Understanding of garment measuring, garment construction, quality control/assurance.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in apparel as a Technical Designer.
• Strong understanding of the design and development process from inception through production.
• Proficiency in fit, pattern making, grading, production-friendly construction methods, and technical drawing.
• Experience grading and understanding grade rules for Women’s, Plus, and Men’s categories.
• Experience leading live fittings and evaluating overall fit with ability to make accurate fit corrections.
• Knowledge of preparing and writing product specification sheets across companywide products.
• Ability to provide clear direction of fit corrections to send to factories regularly.
• Proficient computer skills: Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to quickly identify apparel flaws and/or production issues; adaptable with a sense of urgency and the ability to maintain quality under pressure.
• Ability to prioritize workload, follow instructions, and work well in a team; strong communication and organizational skills.
• Self-starter, multi-task oriented, and able to resolve issues in a timely fashion.
• Ability to influence and communicate necessary corrections effectively.
