About this role

Technical Deployment Lead - Supplemental Disinfection Systems

This role provides the technical execution and field leadership required to deploy supplemental disinfection systems in complex building environments across the Greater NYC Metropolitan Area. By coordinating installation readiness, startup, commissioning, regulatory documentation, and customer handoff, the Technical Deployment Lead helps ensure safe, compliant, and reliable system performance. The position is central to delivering a consistent customer experience, supporting growth in healthcare, commercial, institutional, residential, and hospitality markets, and protecting the quality and integrity of potable-water applications.

Position Summary

The Technical Deployment Lead starts up, commissions, and troubleshoots Sanipur SANIKILL supplemental disinfection equipment used in building potable-water systems. The role supports healthcare, residential, hospitality, institutional, and commercial facilities throughout the metro area listed above. Working closely with facility personnel, Sanipur technical resources, project managers, and properly licensed trade contractors, the Technical Deployment Lead helps deliver safe, compliant, reliable monochloramine systems and strong customer service. This position is not responsible for ongoing services normally provided by the field sales team.

Deployment

Deployment for this role is focused on ensuring each supplemental disinfection system is installed, started up, commissioned, and transitioned to ongoing service in a safe, compliant, and customer-ready manner. The technician will support site readiness, coordinate with licensed trade partners and facility teams, verify installation quality, complete startup documentation, and provide the initial training and handoff required for successful long-term system performance.

Reporting Alignment

This position should align closely with Commercial and Institutional Director leadership while maintaining strong dotted-line coordination with field sales, service, project management, and Sanipur technical resources. Clear reporting alignment will ensure consistent prioritization, timely escalation, effective customer communication, and coordinated execution from deployment through handoff to ongoing service support.

This position is designed to provide deployment scale through knowledge transfer to the field sales and service team as a force multiplier.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-installation site surveys to document domestic hot- and cold-water systems, available space, utilities, water flow, connection points, drainage, chemical storage, communications, and site access.
  • Review approved drawings, installation manuals, bills of material, project scope, permits, and customer requirements before mobilization.
  • Coordinate site readiness and installation activities with facility engineering teams, general contractors, and New York City-licensed plumbers and electricians, as required.
  • Install and assemble SANIKILL equipment and accessories within authorized scope, including controllers, dosing pumps, recirculation components, analyzers, probes, flow sensors, water meters, chemical tanks, tubing, and communications hardware.
  • Verify that piping, electrical, backflow prevention, network, and building-automation connections completed by licensed trades meet approved drawings and manufacturer requirements.
  • Perform startup and commissioning: leak checks, flushing, sensor verification, pump calibration, alarm testing, flow-signal confirmation, communications setup, and operating-parameter documentation.
  • Collect and analyze potable-water samples using approved methods; measure and document monochloramine, total chlorine, free ammonia, pH, temperature, and other assigned parameters required to commission a system.
  • Connect systems to authorized remote-monitoring platforms; verify data transmission, alarm contacts, and customer access.
  • Train facility operators and ChemTreat sales and service personnel on routine observation, safe chemical handling, alarm response, recordkeeping, and escalation procedures.
  • Provide instruction to field sales and service team on preventive maintenance, including cleaning probes and injectors, calibrating pumps and analyzers, replacing probes and maintenance kits, rebuilding wetted components, and verifying safety interlocks.
  • When requested, diagnose mechanical, controls, instrumentation, water-quality, and connectivity issues; complete repairs within assigned scope and escalate complex concerns.
  • Create and support required documentation for handoff to the field service team.
  • Respond promptly to field service issues and urgent service requests from the local team.
  • Maintain tools, test instruments, spare parts, PPE, and vehicle inventory in clean, calibrated, serviceable condition.

Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Follow company environmental, health, and safety procedures, job hazard analyses, customer rules, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable OSHA standards.
  • Review and follow Safety Data Sheets and manufacturer instructions for stabilized sodium hypochlorite and ammonium-salt precursors.
  • Use required PPE and verify access to functioning eyewash, safety-shower, spill-response, and ventilation provisions before chemical work.
  • Comply with applicable New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene requirements for adding chemicals to building drinking-water systems, including sampling, monitoring, recordkeeping, training, and reporting obligations.
  • Ensure permit-required plumbing work is performed under the supervision of a New York City Licensed Master Plumber; ensure regulated electrical work is completed by appropriately licensed personnel.
  • Stop work and notify management when conditions, approvals, permits, site readiness, or safety controls are inadequate.
  • Protect customer information and follow quality-control procedures for potable-water applications.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent field experience.
  • Two or more years of field experience installing or servicing water treatment, plumbing, chemical-feed, controls, HVAC, building-automation, or related mechanical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of pumps, tubing and piping, valves, flow meters, analyzers, electrical controls, and basic water chemistry.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, piping diagrams, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and Safety Data Sheets.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, multimeters, calibration equipment, water-test instruments, and mobile service applications safely.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, customer-service, and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass customer-required background, health, safety, and site-access screening.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize service calls, and coordinate effectively with licensed contractors and technical support teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or apprenticeship in plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical systems, environmental technology, or water treatment.
  • Experience with potable-water disinfection, Legionella control, monochloramine generation, healthcare facilities, or complex building water systems.
  • ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI 12080 Legionella Water Safety and Management Personnel certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • OSHA 10- or 30-hour Construction certification.
  • Backflow prevention, confined-space, electrical safety, or manufacturer-specific equipment training.
  • Familiarity with Modbus TCP/IP, cellular gateways, remote monitoring, BAS integration, and electronic service-reporting systems.
  • New York City trade experience and familiarity with Department of Buildings and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene processes.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work with hands in mechanical rooms and restricted-access areas.
  • Climb stairs and ladders and work at elevated locations when properly protected.
  • Lift and carry up to 60 pounds independently and use team-lifting or mechanical aids for heavier components.
  • Work around potable-water piping, chemical-feed equipment, moving machinery, wet surfaces, moderate-to-high noise, heat, cold, and varying ventilation.
  • Wear required PPE, which may include safety glasses or goggles, a face shield, chemical-resistant gloves and apron, protective footwear, a hard hat, hearing protection, and respirator
