Job title: Technical Coordinator-Investor AML
About the Role
The Technical Coordinator supports the Investor AML Team in Ireland, ensuring operational efficiency and effective use of staff resources. The role handles complex AML-related activities with significant financial and client impact and acts as a subject matter expert and mentor to junior staff while ensuring compliance with AML processes.
What You'll Do
- Actively participates in the review of investor documentation and information in adherence with Northern Trust’s AML processes and procedures.
- Supports the Team Leader in ensuring operational efficiency with respect to workflow distribution and staff resource planning.
- Carry out complex activities with financial, client, and internal business impact; provide guidance and may supervise day-to-day work of junior staff (not a formal management role).
- Take responsibility for timely and accurate completion of workload allocated, including tasks processed through Northern Trust’s workflow process.
- Review investor documentation and efficiently highlight outstanding investor due diligence to the Investor AML Department in Ireland, via agreed modes of communication, escalating material issues as needed.
- Escalate and assist with resolution of more complex problems and critical issues from other Northern Trust partners (including Investor AML Department in Ireland).
- Ensure queries from other Northern Trust partners are dealt with efficiently and professionally.
- Complete support services for Ireland & UK Investor AML processes and provide regular, meaningful updates to line management and colleagues in Bangalore, Pune and Ireland.
- Maintain strong working relationships with partners in the Investor AML Department in Ireland.
- Collaborate with line management and colleagues to ensure Investor AML support teams in Bangalore and Pune meet audit, risk, and compliance standards amid process changes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Investor AML best practices and promote enhancements to Northern Trust’s AML processes.
- Perform additional work as required to manage workload during high volume or staff absence, while complying with global AML regulatory regimes.
- Observe proper standards of market, business and personal conduct, demonstrating integrity in execution of duties.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of day-to-day AML processes and procedures and the wider funds administration business.
- Previous experience in AML.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Effective risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to research and understand complex issues and deliver solutions with line management.
- General knowledge of the global Investor AML regulatory environment.
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications related to designated responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting, CA or ICWA; Inter/Master degree/IAQ/IOC or equivalent a plus.
- Experience in Audit/Operational Control/ Risk, Accounting / financial services/ capital markets work or equivalent.
- Flexibility for shifts and extended working hours.
