About the Role Lead the architecture, design, development, and delivery activities of a cross-functional engineering team for a high-load platform serving mobile apps through a BFF and microservice-based architecture. Partner with Product, Design, Data, Security, Infrastructure, and Operations to deliver scalable, cloud-based web applications and digital products for members and franchise operations. What You'll Do
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and delivery activities of a cross-functional engineering team
- Lead the integration of new technologies into existing web applications and digital products
- Drive technical discussions and clearly communicate complex ideas, trade-offs, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Partner closely with Product and Design teams to identify effective technical solutions for user and business needs
- Collaborate with Data, Security, Infrastructure, and Tech Operations teams to support smooth delivery from idea to production
- Make and justify architectural decisions, including evaluation of different approaches and their pros and cons
- Contribute hands-on to discovery, implementation, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making
- Proactively identify risks, challenges, and ambiguities, and communicate them with proposed solutions
- Participate in and lead spikes, POCs, and technical investigations
- Support team growth through technical leadership and direct people management where applicable
- Set and maintain high standards for engineering quality, delivery efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience working as frontend developer
- 3+ years of recent hands-on backend development experience with Java or Node.js
- Strong experience with React, TypeScript and the modern React ecosystem
- Hands-on technical leadership experience, including driving technical decisions, solution design, code review, mentoring, and ownership of delivery quality
- Understanding of distributed systems and modern and event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain, justify, and discuss technical decisions
- English level: B2 or higher
- Experience with Remix is a plus Nice to Have
