About the Role This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while delivering legendary customer service in Tractor Supply and Petsense stores. What You'll Do
- Provide legendary customer service by thanking customers, engaging with them and their pets, advising on products or services, and making the shopping experience memorable.
- Operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
- Recover merchandise and participate in freight processing; execute plan-o-gram merchandising, sets, and resets.
- Assemble merchandise and perform merchandising duties; execute price changes and markdowns.
- Assist customers with loading purchases; perform janitorial duties and maintain store cleanliness.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of live animals; sanitize and maintain holding tanks and care for animals as required.
- Handle all documentation related to the above duties; participate in ongoing training as required.
- May perform other duties as assigned by supervision. What We're Looking For
- Availability, flexibility, adaptability, and service orientation; regular and predictable attendance; willingness to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- No experience required; retail experience and/or pet/live animal knowledge strongly preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required; ability to read, write, and count accurately.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills; basic computer skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to resolve issues ethically with minimal conflict.
- Physical requirements include ability to lift 50+ pounds, stand, bend, crouch, climb ladders, and move throughout the store; ability to operate POS equipment and access all areas of the store. Nice to Have
