Job title: Team Member - Steering Rack Assembly
About the Role Join CFAO MOBILITY Division's Steering Rack Assembly team in Durban. This role provides ongoing support to TSAM & TTAF by preparing, assembling, and packing finished goods to meet Milk-run collection and operational requirements, with a focus on quality and safety.
What You'll Do
- Adhere to standard operating procedures or Work Instructions to ensure quality and safety.
- Support daily production requirements within allocated times.
- Ensure quality of components assembled and packaged for delivery to the customer.
- Support overtime requirements in line with customer and business needs to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Conduct daily stock counts with strict adherence to FIFO.
- Assist with stock take preparation and participate in regular stock counts.
- Submit team kaizens and near misses to ensure continuous improvement of all processes.
- Report any defects or irregularities to ensure that safety and quality is never compromised, especially with safety-critical components.
- Record hourly and daily output and update on control board.
- Support with printing of Kanban orders to replenish stock.
- Support P&A requirements; compliance to safety standards.
- Conduct housekeeping and safety standards walks daily.
- Daily tasks are not limited to the above activities.
What We're Looking For
- Matric (minimum educational requirement).
- Numeracy and Literacy.
- Quality Inspection experience.
- Safety and ISO awareness.
- Assembly experience (fast moving line) – preferred.
- Strong Communication Skills, Problem solving, and a Customer Centric Focus.
- Teamwork, Detail Orientation, Attention to detail, Innovative Thinking, Adaptability, and Result Orientation.
