About the Role An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified Team Member to join the Steering Rack Assembly operation, based in Durban. This role provides ongoing support to TSAM & TTAF by preparing, assembling and packing finished goods in a timely manner and in accordance with quality specifications, to be dispatched to TSAM to meet Milk Run collection and operational requirements.
What You'll Do
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (or work instructions) to ensure quality and safety.
- Support daily production requirements within allocated times.
- Ensure quality of components assembled and packaged for delivery to the customer.
- Support overtime requirements in line with customer and business needs to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Conduct daily stock counts with strict adherence to FIFO; assist with stock takes and participate in regular stock counts.
- Submit team kaizens and near-misses to drive continuous improvement.
- Report defects or irregularities to uphold safety and quality.
- Record hourly and daily output and update on control boards.
- Support with printing Kanban orders to replenish stock.
- Support P&A requirements.
- Conduct housekeeping and safety standards walks daily.
- Daily tasks not limited to the above activities.
What We're Looking For
- Matric with Numeracy and Literacy.
- Quality Inspection experience; knowledge of Safety and ISO.
- Assembly experience on a fast-moving line is preferred.
- Repetitive and intricate assembly requires concentration and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, problem recognition and solving skills.
- Customer centric focus, teamwork and collaboration.
- Innovative thinking, adaptability and result orientation.
- Kanban system knowledge is advantageous.
