Team Member, Audit and Tax Location: Ikeja, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing audit assignments for clients across various industries.
  • Perform audit procedures, including substantive testing, analytical reviews, and verification of financial transactions and balances.
  • Review accounting records, financial statements, and supporting documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain complete audit working papers in line with the firm’s audit methodology.
  • Identify accounting, financial, and internal control issues and communicate findings to the Audit Senior/Manager.
  • Assist in preparing audit reports, management letters, and other client deliverables.
  • Conduct tax computations and assist with the preparation and filing of relevant tax returns.
  • Assist with tax compliance assignments, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, Companies Income Tax (CIT), and other applicable taxes.
  • Review clients’ tax records and supporting documents to identify potential tax exposures and compliance issues.
  • Assist with tax reconciliations, computations, and responses to tax queries from relevant authorities.
  • Support clients during tax audits, investigations, and regulatory engagements where required.
  • Conduct research on accounting, auditing, and tax regulations and provide relevant updates to senior team members.
  • Liaise professionally with clients to obtain information and clarification required for audit and tax assignments.
  • Work effectively with other team members to ensure assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in audit, accounting, and/or tax, preferably in a professional services or audit firm.
  • ACA is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS, auditing principles, and Nigerian tax regulations.
  • Practical understanding of CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other statutory tax requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting/audit software.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work with financial information accurately.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

This is a full-time role with competitive salary.
