Team Leader - Maintenance

About the Role The Maintenance Team Leader reports directly to the Plant Manager and leads a maintenance organization in a Natural Gas power plant. The primary responsibility is to oversee the maintenance program, including routine and outage work, and to champion safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation. This role also oversees the Conditioned Based Outage/Integrated Planning Process (Stage Gate) and participates in multi-year budget planning. What You'll Do

• Provide safety, compliance, budgeting, reliability, and overall maintenance program leadership for the plant.
• Direct, schedule, and staff maintenance personnel (mechanics, electricians, instrument technicians) and manage resource allocation.
• Develop direct reports and foster a culture of strong operation and maintenance fundamentals; drive human performance improvement.
• Ensure safe work practices, adherence to plant procedures, and effective operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Prioritize reliability and financial risks using data analysis and historical/predictive maintenance information.
• Oversee long-range planning and detailed execution of Fossil unit outages, including cost, schedule, and safety management.
• Prepare near-term and strategic maintenance budgets; support budget development and cost control for short- and long-range plans.
• Collaborate with Planning and Operations to address emerging maintenance issues and allocate resources.
• Lead contract management/contractor oversight for routine and outage work; staff outages and projects.
• Develop and manage schedules and budgets for routine maintenance and planned outages.
• Interface with other plant management to resolve issues impacting processes, budget, maintenance strategies, outage scope, schedule and costs.
• Champion gap closure actions aligned with company strategy; identify maintenance strategies and funding needs.
• Build strong internal/external relationships and stay informed on industry research to drive continuous improvement. What We're Looking For
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience (10 years power plant experience with at least 5 years maintenance if no degree; 5 years maintenance experience if degree).
• Experience: Minimum 10 years power plant experience with at least 5 years maintenance (without degree); with technical degree, 5 years maintenance experience.
• Knowledge/Skills: O&M/Capital Budget development, execution and management; Work Management processes and maintenance strategies including planning and scheduling; ability to rank and prioritize reliability and financial risks; contract/project management; short-term and long-term activity budgeting.
• Leadership: Safety champion; strong relationship-building with internal and external interfaces and partners; performance management; highly skilled in employee and team development; promote teamwork. Nice to Have
