Job title: Team Lead - Plant Assets
About the Role The Plant Asset Team Leader reports directly to the Plant Manager and leads a team of technicians and engineers at a natural gas-fired power plant. The role is responsible for the safe, efficient, compliant and reliable operation of plant assets, and oversees the Integrated Strategic Planning Process, Stage Gate Process, and outage planning/execution. The position participates in developing multi-year tactical and strategic project budgets and ensures maintenance, operations, and compliance support system needs while championing diversity, ethics and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership for safety, compliance, budgeting, reliability, and all aspects of the assigned plant area.
- Develop direct reports to build a culture of fundamentals that support operations and maintenance.
- Embrace human performance improvement initiatives, with emphasis on accountability, feedback, coaching, and shared understanding of excellence.
- Ensure plant personnel follow safe work practices, plant procedures, and operate/maintain equipment efficiently.
- Rank and prioritize reliability and financial risks using data analysis and historical/predictive maintenance information.
- Oversee long-range planning and execution of unit outages with the Fleet Maintenance group, managing cost, schedule and safety.
- Prepare near-term and strategic budgets; provide budget development and cost control for short-range/work plans and long-range planning.
- Lead end-to-end contract management and contractor oversight for routine and outage work.
- Staff and manage outages and projects; develop schedules and budgets for routine maintenance and planned outages.
- Interface with other plant management to resolve issues impacting processes, budget, maintenance strategies, outage scope, schedule and costs.
- Drive continuous improvement and develop relationships with internal and external interfaces and key partners.
- Maintain awareness of latest industry research and apply improvements; provide oversight for NERC compliance issues in plant operations.
What We're Looking For
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a technical field is desired; 10 years of power plant experience with at least 5 years in maintenance, or with a technical degree at least 5 years in maintenance/operations.
- Experience: Supervisory or leadership experience; experience with Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) plants is desired.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: History of strong accountability for results; knowledge of power plant operating and maintenance practices, equipment maintenance.
