Position Overview

The Department of Psychology at Marquette University invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position beginning August 2027. The area of expertise is open. The position requires teaching four courses per semester with opportunities to reduce course load by engaging in service, such as academic advising of undergraduate students. Opportunities for summer teaching are also available. To reduce the number of new preps, the courses per semester can include multiple sections of the same course (if available), and the two semesters will entail teaching similar courses. We are particularly interested in candidates with a track-record of teaching that focuses on marginalization with respect to mental health, adaptation, bias, thriving, etc. The successful candidate would teach a range of possible courses at the undergraduate level such as Psychology of Racism, Psychology of Prejudice, Psychology of Religion, Psychology of Gender Roles, and/or Death and Dying. Candidates who can contribute to teaching graduate courses in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program would be desirable. Although research is not required for this position, laboratory resources can be made available for individuals who desire to engage in scholarship.

Marquette University is a Jesuit, Catholic university with approximately 8,400 undergraduate and 3,300 graduate and professional students across a wide range of programs.
