About the Role
AoPS Online is seeking Teaching Assistants to support live, text-based math classes for middle and high school students. You will mentor students preparing for math contests such as MATHCOUNTS, AMC, AIME, and USA(J)MO by answering questions, providing hints, and offering encouragement in real time. This is a remote, freelance position with weekly classes and flexible scheduling. Classes run once per week from 7:20 - 9:00 pm ET; Sunday availability is required, but there may be opportunities on other days.
What You'll Do

Answer questions and provide hints in real time during live text-based classes

Encourage and mentor students; support contest preparation

Help create a positive learning environment and assist with class activities

What We're Looking For

18+ and eligible to work; pursuing or completed a STEM degree

Strong command of math and ability to communicate clearly in writing

Experience with math contests (e.g., MAA AMC 10/12, AIME, USA(J)MO) required; other contest experience a plus

Knowledge of physics, Python, or chemistry a plus

Teaching or tutoring experience; quick thinker in a fast-paced online setting
