About the Role Villanova University, in collaboration with the North Penn School District, is launching an Afterschool Artificial Intelligence (AI) Club for K–12 students (grades 1–6) and seeks teacher mentors to plan and co-lead sessions. The role is part-time, hourly, January 2026 – June 2026, based in Lansdale, PA, supporting student teams as they explore AI-enabled projects and prepare for the Presidential AI Challenge.
What You'll Do
- Co-develop and facilitate after-school AI Club sessions (two to three afternoons per week).
- Collaborate with Villanova faculty and AI experts to adapt materials for age-appropriate learning.
- Provide classroom management and guidance to maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Support student teams in project planning, documentation, and presentation development.
- Participate in planning and reflection meetings with mentors and the PI.
- Assist with the organization of a local AI Showcase and related outreach events.
- Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- K–12 teachers to serve as mentors and facilitators for the Afterschool AI Club, collaborating with Villanova faculty and AI experts.
- Ability to plan and co-lead age-appropriate learning activities and support student teams in project planning, documentation, and presentation development.
- Interest in AI education and in gaining exposure to university and industry mentors, contributing to an innovative STEM learning experience that integrates technology, creativity, and ethics.
- Availability for January 2026 – June 2026, approximately 5–10 hours per week (two to three afternoons per week) in Lansdale, PA.
