Tax Specialist, Sr Staff

About the Role

Join Entergy Services, LLC as a Tax Specialist, Sr Staff responsible for multistate sales and use tax, property tax, and related state/local tax functions. This role supports budgeting, forecasting, planning, and regulatory compliance, with emphasis on multistate tax guidance and audits in the utility sector. What You'll Do

• Review and prepare multistate sales and use tax returns and other state/local tax returns.

• Review and prepare multistate property tax returns and valuations; review property tax payments prior to remittance.

• Estimate sales and use tax associated with major capital investments; prepare and review schedules providing budgeting and forecasting data related to property tax liabilities in future years.

• Provide multistate tax guidance for contracts and purchases of materials and equipment.

• Defend multistate sales and use tax audits, including review and analysis of supporting documentation and audit schedules.

• Research various state and local tax issues; monitor and ensure compliance with new tax laws and regulations.

• Assist with implementation of planning opportunities and process improvements.

• Assist in responding to information requests from multiple regulatory commissions.

• Familiarity with commonly utilized tax credits and incentives is a plus. What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.

• 8+ years of relevant work experience; Tax Specialist, Sr Staff level; Tax accounting experience is a plus.

• CPA, JD, and/or CMI designation is a plus.

• Experience in the utility industry preferred; strong computer and technology skills.

• Prior property, sales/use tax preparation and review experience; adept at using tax technology tools (SAP, Thomson Reuters OneSource, PowerPlan).

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel) and Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with tax research tools such as CCH, Checkpoint, or LexisNexis.

• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple projects. Nice to Have

• Experience in the utility industry preferred.
