About the Role This hybrid role at Entergy supports tax compliance and planning for sales & use tax, property tax, and related regulatory matters. The position focuses on preparing and reviewing tax returns, assisting with audits and planning opportunities, and ensuring compliance with evolving tax laws. What You'll Do
- Prepare and review sales and use tax returns and other federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Prepare and review property tax returns and valuations; prepare and remit property tax payments.
- Prepare schedules for budgeting/forecasting property tax payments.
- Provide tax guidance for contracts and purchases of materials and equipment.
- Defend sales and use tax audits; gather supporting documentation; research tax issues.
- Monitor compliance with new tax laws and regulations; assist with planning opportunities and process improvements.
- Respond to information requests from regulatory commissions.
- Use tax research tools (SAP, Thomson Reuters OneSource, PowerPlan) and MS Office (Excel, Adobe Acrobat). What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Tax Specialist, Sr requires 4+ years; Tax Specialist 0-3 years; tax accounting experience a plus.
- CPA and/or CMI designation a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication; analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects; proficient in MS Office; experience with tax technology tools.
- Prior property, sales/use tax preparation and review experience; utility industry experience preferred.
- Adept at using tax technology tools (SAP, Thomson Reuters OneSource, PowerPlan). Nice to Have
- Experience in the utility industry preferred.
