About the Role BDO USA’s Private Client Services (PCS) practice seeks a Tax Senior Manager to lead tax compliance and consulting for high net-worth clients. This boutique practice provides high-touch service to ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices, C-Suite executives, athletes, and entertainers, with a focus on estate, income, gift, and trust tax planning and compliance. What You'll Do
- Manage tax and consulting engagements and provide planning opportunities, supervising staff and ensuring client needs are met.
- Serve as primary client contact for preparation, presentation of issues, and resolution; review complex returns (individual, trust, estate, S-Corp, foundation, partnership, gift tax).
- Direct communication with government agencies on high-complexity matters.
- Identify technical issues, conduct advanced tax research, and develop recommendations for PCS leadership and clients.
- Prioritize and review work to keep engagements on track; apply analytical and decision-making skills to client decisions.
- Support PCS/firm contributions including billing, recruiting, and attendance/training in CPE.
- Build and maintain relationships with BDO professionals and external sources.
- Supervise and develop associates and senior associates; provide performance feedback; schedule workload and act as Career Advisor. What We're Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics; Masters in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years in accounting, finance, or law; experience in private client service; supervisory experience; public accounting experience preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: CPA or Enrolled Agent or Attorney or equivalent; other professional credentials preferred.
- Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat; experience with tax compliance tools (GoSystems, BNA Tax Planner, GoFileRoom, SurePrep) and tax research tools (BNA Portfolio, CCH IntelliConnect, Checkpoint, LexisNexis).
- Skills & Abilities: Initiative, client engagement management, strong communication, leadership, KPI monitoring, ability to work with cross-department teams. Nice to Have
- Masters in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Other professional degrees or certifications preferred. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $120,000 - $225,000 per year.
