About the Role

Join Baker Tilly as a Tax Senior Manager to deliver industry-focused tax advisory and compliance services to middle-market clients, working side-by-side with firm leadership to drive client service and business growth. You will mentor staff and help develop their technical and professional skills while advancing your own leadership capabilities.

What You'll Do

  • Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing various federal tax compliance and consulting services to clients: lead day-to-day tax matters for middle-market to multinational clients.
  • Consult on technical matters and special projects in areas of corporate and flow-through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC 740.
  • Research tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to the client for consideration.
  • Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complex matters in state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, and credits and incentives.
  • Manage client engagement staffing, billing and collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
  • Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; master's or advanced degree desirable.
  • CPA or EA required.
  • Eight (8)+ years of experience providing federal and state tax compliance, accounting and advisory services in a professional services firm.
  • Five (5)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
  • Demonstrated management and analytic capabilities.
  • Ability to lead client relationships and manage multiple engagements; strong communication and leadership skills.

Nice to Have

  • Master's or advanced degree desirable.
  • Experience serving middle-market to multinational clients.
  • Experience with credits and incentives, R&D, state and local taxes.
