About the Role You will lead Baker Tilly’s Health Care Tax Services practice in the TN/GA/FL market as a Tax Principal/Partner. You will act as a trusted tax advisor delivering federal tax compliance and consulting services to health care clients, and drive growth by developing client relationships and mentoring staff.

What You'll Do

• Be a trusted leader of Baker Tilly’s tax services, providing federal tax compliance and consulting services to Health Care clients, positively impacting your clients through delivering high-quality tax work.
• Be a valued tax business advisor, leading client relationships on day-to-day tax matters with various clients ranging from middle market to multinational; consulting on technical matters and special projects in corporate and flow-through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC740.
• Research tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to the client for consideration.
• Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complicated tax matters in the state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, along with credits and incentives areas.
• Oversee tax-planning responsibilities for federal and individual clients, reviewing complex tax research on a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions for a variety of entities and their affiliates.
• Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based upon knowledge gained relative to the client's operations, processes, and business objectives.
• Manage client engagement staffing, billing/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
• Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue. Actively participate in requests for proposals to pursue additional clients/services for the firm.
• Participates with other service line leadership in developing tax service market positioning and branding, strategy, and messaging.
• Invest in your professional development individually and through participation in firm-wide learning and development programs.
• Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals, along with proactively supporting the recruitment efforts of future team members.

What We're Looking For

• Expert in tax with ability to lead a practice and mentor staff; experience in health care tax services preferred.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor, managing client relationships on day-to-day tax matters for middle-market to multinational clients.
• Strong ability to coordinate with multiple service lines and handle complex tax matters (state/local, international, R&D, credits and incentives).
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to respond to IRS inquiries with clear recommendations.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business-development skills and willingness to pursue new client opportunities and participate in RFPs.
