About the Role We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to support a logistics organization on a long-term contract, focusing on indirect tax, especially sales and use tax compliance, analysis, and risk management. The role combines industry knowledge with strong analytical abilities to oversee filings, evaluate contractual tax treatment, and coordinate with external advisors. What You'll Do
- Lead indirect tax activities with a primary focus on sales and use tax matters across logistics-related operations.
- Develop a working relationship with an external consulting partner.
- Evaluate registration requirements, exemption documentation, and filing obligations while maintaining clear visibility into status and deadlines.
- Examine customer and vendor agreements to determine appropriate tax treatment and identify areas of potential exposure.
- Validate tax calculations and test charges applied to transactions to confirm accuracy and compliance with applicable rules.
- Prepare, analyze, and organize tax data using Microsoft Excel to support reporting, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to address indirect tax questions and improve consistency in tax-related processes and documentation. What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in indirect tax, including substantial hands-on work with sales and use tax.
- Background in the transportation or logistics industry with an understanding of related tax considerations.
- Proven ability to manage external consulting relationships and coordinate multiple tax workstreams.
- Experience reviewing contracts and assessing tax implications within commercial agreements.
- Strong quantitative skills with the ability to perform calculations and test transactional tax accuracy.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, tracking, and reporting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics is preferred. Nice to Have

- Salary: 70-75 USD per hour.
