About the Role Join Baker Tilly as a Tax Manager in our Chicago office to deliver tax and business advisory services and tax compliance to small business clients. You will work with firm leadership to serve clients, drive the business forward, and coach a talented staff to develop their skills.

What You'll Do

• Oversee and provide services pertaining to accounting, bookkeeping and prepared or compiled financials.
• Review and analyze accounting records with clients, provide analysis and consultation, and discuss accounting and business matters.
• Deliver best-in-class customer service to clients, with emphasis on responsiveness, timeliness, professionalism, and accuracy.
• Lead and plan client engagements, evaluate processes, and identify internal control improvements.
• Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based on client operations and objectives.
• Manage and build client relationships, act as liaison to resolve client issues, and assist leadership in researching additional services.
• Delegate and oversee work by setting goals, providing resources, removing obstacles, and meeting deadlines.
• Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal tax practices and laws.
• Assist with staffing, billing/collections, and profitability targets.
• Use entrepreneurial skills to network and build relationships with clients and the community.
• Invest in professional development through firm-wide learning and development programs and contribute to team growth.
