About the Role Acts as liaison between partners, clients and staff. Manages multiple projects and client engagements while scheduling, staffing and coordinating engagement workflow. Develops and trains staff and provides leadership in firm practice development, expanding technical knowledge and management skills. What You'll Do
- Act as liaison between partners, clients, and staff; manage multiple engagements simultaneously and coordinate engagement workflow.
- Plan, schedule, staff engagements and supervise staff; review tax returns and related work papers; provide on-the-job training and performance evaluations.
- Anticipate problem areas and develop procedures; keep supervisors informed and propose solutions.
- Communicate progress and resolutions to clients in writing and orally.
- Prepare invoices, communicate fee details, and assist in collecting overdue accounts.
- Stay informed about general economic and political trends that could affect tax or other legislation.
- Perform supervisory reviews of tax returns and governmental tax examinations; assume responsibility for more complex returns; delegate and manage examinations as needed.
- May represent the client before tax authorities. What We're Looking For
- Minimum of five years of experience in accounting and tax, with progression in complexity, scope, and engagements managed.
- Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA firm.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting.
- Minimum of forty hours of continuing professional education per year.
- A current and valid CPA license; member in good standing with the AICPA.
- Proficiency with computers and various accounting and tax software.
