About the Role EY's People Advisory Services practice is seeking a Tax Manager to advise organizations and high-net-worth individuals on compensation matters, domestic tax planning, estate and wealth transfer, and postmortem planning with cross-border tax concerns. The role offers an opportunity to expand Canadian tax knowledge into niche areas of international tax and compensation and rewards, in collaboration with EY's Private Tax, Mobility, Transaction Tax, and International Tax groups across Canada and globally. What You'll Do
- Identify planning opportunities and prepare correspondence describing the income tax implications of transactions.
- Recommend and implement tax strategies that align with the client's objectives.
- Correspond with legal counsel and tax authorities on client issues.
- Review Canadian personal, corporate, trust tax and information reporting returns, election forms, and tax advisory memos.
- Research client issues arising from cross-border tax concerns. What We're Looking For
- Experience advising on compensation matters, domestic tax planning, estate and wealth transfer, and cross-border tax concerns.
- Ability to identify planning opportunities and communicate tax implications.
- Experience reviewing Canadian personal, corporate, and trust tax returns and information reporting.
- Collaborative experience with cross-functional teams including EY Private Tax, Mobility, Transaction Tax, and International Tax groups (Canada and globally). Nice to Have
- Interest in expanding Canadian tax knowledge into international tax and compensation and rewards.
- Interest or experience in international tax and cross-border issues.
