About the Role Baker Tilly is seeking a Tax Manager to serve as a valued advisor delivering tax and business advisory services and tax compliance to middle-market clients. You will work alongside firm leadership to serve clients, build the business, and directly influence the firm’s success, while coaching and developing a team of talented staff.
What You'll Do
- Provide tax, accounting and advisory services to clients, including overseeing accounting/bookkeeping and preparing or compiling financial statements.
- Review and analyze client accounting records, discuss findings with clients, and deliver consulting on accounting and business matters.
- Deliver best-in-class client service with a focus on responsiveness, timeliness, professionalism and accuracy.
- Lead and plan client engagements; evaluate processes; implement efficiencies and address internal control issues.
- Recommend business and process improvements based on client operations and objectives.
- Manage and build client relationships; liaise to resolve client issues; assist leaders in researching and providing additional services.
- Delegate and oversee work by setting goals, providing resources, removing obstacles, and setting deadlines to meet client expectations.
- Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal tax practices and laws; assist with staffing, billing/collections and profitability targets.
- Use entrepreneurial skills to network and build relationships with clients and the community; participate in firm-wide learning and development programs.
- Support growth and development of team members through Baker Tilly’s Care and Teach philosophy.
