Job title: Tax Manager

About the Role A Tax Manager in our Irvine office will be a valued advisor delivering tax and business advisory services and tax compliance to small business and middle-market clients. You will work alongside firm leadership to serve clients and grow the business, and you will coach a talented staff to develop their technical and professional skills.

What You'll Do

  • Provide tax, accounting and advisory services to small business and middle-market clients.
  • Oversee accounting, bookkeeping and preparation or compilation of financials.
  • Review and analyze accounting records with clients, provide analysis and consultation, and discuss accounting and business matters.
  • Deliver best-in-class client service with responsiveness, timeliness, professionalism and accuracy.
  • Lead and plan client engagements; evaluate processes, implement efficiencies and address internal control issues.
  • Recommend business and process improvements based on client operations and objectives.
  • Manage and build client relationships; act as liaison to resolve client issues; assist leaders in researching and providing additional services.
  • Delegate and oversee work by setting goals, allocating resources, removing obstacles and setting deadlines to meet delivery expectations.
  • Stay current on local, state and federal tax practices and laws.
  • Assist with engagement staffing, billing and ensuring profitability targets are met.
  • Leverage entrepreneurial skills to network and build relationships internally and with clients and the community.
  • Invest in your professional development and participate in firm programs.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience delivering tax, accounting and advisory services to small business and middle-market clients.
  • Ability to work face-to-face with clients and act as a trusted business advisor.
  • Strong leadership and coaching capabilities; passion for developing talent.
  • Knowledge of current local, state and federal tax practices and laws.
  • Ability to manage engagements, staffing, billing and profitability targets.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to network and build relationships.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
