Job title: Tax Counsel
About the Role ExxonMobil is seeking a highly skilled Tax Counsel to address complex value-chain tax issues within a Fortune 50 multinational. You will develop and implement tax planning strategies aligned with business objectives, advise business line and finance managers on major transactions, tax policy trends and tax savings opportunities, and navigate domestic and international tax issues. During your career, you will work on dynamic projects and broaden your tax technical skills.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies that align with business objectives through collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Stay updated on tax laws, policies, regulations and industry trends.
- Analyze business operations, transactions and investments to identify potential tax issues, opportunities and risk management strategies across global value chains.
- Support tax-related matters associated with mergers, acquisitions and divestments.
- Analyze complex tax issues and recommend practical and strategic solutions.
- Distill recent legislation and regulations into practical guidance for our tax compliance organization to assist the corporation in complying with an ever-changing and complex tax environment.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years of tax planning experience.
- Minimum of a J.D. and licensed to practice law in at least one state.
- Tax LL.M. preferred.
- Strong project management skills; adds value by collaborating effectively with colleagues, clients and other support functions.
- Excellent communication and ability to share knowledge to develop capabilities of the whole team.
Nice to Have
- LL.M. in Tax preferred.
- Experience in value-chain tax, cross-border transactions or related areas.
