Tax Accountant

An established CPA firm is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join its growing team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys tax work, client interaction, and being part of a collaborative, relationship-focused firm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual and business tax returns.
• Handle federal, state, and multi-state tax filings.
• Assist clients with year-round tax planning and compliance.
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Work with a variety of business owners, individuals, and closely held companies.
• Research tax issues and stay current on changes to federal and state tax regulations.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding tax questions, documentation, and planning opportunities.
• Assist with accounting cleanup, reconciliations, and other client accounting needs as necessary.
• Collaborate with firm leadership and other team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of client work.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with clients and provide a high level of service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax and accounting experience.
• Strong experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience working within a CPA firm or public accounting environment strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
• Experience with accounting and tax software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $65,000–$90,000 salary based on experience.
