Job title: Tank Farm Operator
About the Role The Tank Farm Operator role supports the efficient operation of Univar Solutions' tank farm facilities, including shipping and receiving bulk chemicals and ensuring accurate filling, packing, and shipping of customer orders. The position also ensures compliance with state and federal labeling and shipping laws, inspects equipment, and protects warehouse stocks and equipment. This role involves outdoor handling of hazardous chemicals and coordination with teams to maintain safe and reliable operations.
What You'll Do
- Provide efficient operation of the tank farm facilities.
- Shipping and receiving of bulk chemicals in the tank farm; provide services for the prompt and accurate filling, packing, and shipping of tank farm customer orders.
- Ensure compliance with all State and Federal labeling and shipping laws and regulations on merchandise shipped from warehouse.
- Inspect and check tank farm equipment and facilities to ensure that all equipment is in good operating condition.
- Ensure the maintenance and protection of warehouse stocks, supplies, and equipment.
- Handling, blending, and pumping hazardous chemicals outdoors.
- Transfer hazardous chemicals from railcar to tank & tank to trailer.
- Package totes and drums with product.
- Drive hostler in the yard to move bulk trailers.
- Any problems with regard to tank farm operation should be brought to the attention of Warehouse or Operation's Manager.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma, or GED with additional schooling or equivalent business experience.
- Ability to respond to emergency response situations.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and direct Emergency Response Teams.
- Ability to operate all warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work varying and extended hours.
- Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions: Office and plant environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base wage: $30.25 per hour.
- Wage classification under applicable CBA; other total rewards including health and retirement benefits, paid holidays and paid time away.
- Total Rewards package includes market-aligned pay and incentives as well as paid holidays and paid time away, with potential for targeted annual company bonus and annual salary reviews.
