About the Role Lead and scale Canonical's Talent Science capability by driving data-informed hiring decisions. This senior role reports to the Global Head of Talent Science and focuses on building roadmaps, designing analytics tools, and coaching a team to deliver exceptional recruiting and selection outcomes across a remote, global context.
What You'll Do
- Lead a team to deliver against strategic objectives with emphasis on product design and roadmap implementation.
- Crack the code on hiring by linking performance outcomes to selection methods and advancing talent.
- Design professional processes and frameworks for efficient delivery of the talent agenda.
- Coach and mentor team members; develop training materials and documentation to support analytical capabilities and thought leadership.
- Represent the team in the Head's absence; act as a credible, trusted adviser and inspiring leader.
- Collaborate with company leaders to articulate and communicate Canonical's talent vision.
What We're Looking For
- Exceptional academic track record from high school and university with an undergraduate degree in a people-based subject.
- 7+ years' experience in a Talent function with deep recruitment/selection analytics experience.
- Proficiency in SQL; or Python, R, SPSS, with the ability to run lookups, indexing, and matching, and a willingness to learn SQL.
- Experience with BI tools; Superset is our platform.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills; proven ability to drive roadmap execution and deliver results.
- Excellent written and spoken English with strong presentation skills for senior audiences.
- Sincere motivation aligned with Canonical's mission.
- International travel 2-4 times per year for company events up to two weeks long.
