Job title: Systems Support Consultant III, IT Governance & Client Success
About the Role The Systems Support Consultant III supports the STAR/South Campus IT group within IT Governance & Client Success, providing specialized computing solutions, AD management, endpoint management, and security services to the UD community. This role partners with faculty, staff, and students to ensure secure, reliable technology while delivering high-level technical support. The incumbent reports to the Director, STAR/South Campus IT in IT-GCS.
What You'll Do
- Install and manage server(s), ensuring security; perform system maintenance, configure equipment, install software and upgrades, and apply patches
- Monitor system status; test and debug systems and software
- Write documentation and procedures; investigate licensing options and ensure compliance with site licenses
- Provide on-call support for critical systems
- Manage endpoint management tools for STAR/South Campus IT environment
- Create installation packages for university-supported software solutions
- Evaluate and recommend endpoint best practices to increase team efficiencies
- Ensure the security and integrity of the system(s) and data
- Initiate and lead feasibility studies related to client/server, network, software, and policies
- Perform trending analysis to predict future problems
- Participate in and may lead disaster recovery planning and recovery operations when needed
- Act as backup for other IT Support Consultants
- Advise campus clientele regarding departmental systems administration, hardware, planning and installation, software installation and configuration, and UD standards of good practices
- Provide high-level technical support for troubleshooting technology problems; consult with faculty, staff, and/or students in specific areas of technology
What We're Looking For
- Experience with systems administration, server management, and endpoint management tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; ability to provide high-level technical support
- On-call availability and ability to respond to critical systems issues
- Familiarity with security best practices and data integrity
- Ability to consult with faculty, staff, and students and adhere to UD standards
- Experience with Active Directory/AD management is a plus
