About the Role Salesforce is seeking an engineering candidate to join the Site Reliability organization. Working closely with counterparts in the Infrastructure and R&D organizations, this team monitors cloud service availability and swiftly repairs service-impacting issues. The role focuses on detecting and resolving incidents within minutes to keep Salesforce cloud services available 24/7, while contributing to data security through resiliency initiatives and testing.
What You'll Do
- Keep customer-facing services available at top performance by maintaining the constant health of the supporting systems.
- Incident management: act in key support roles during major incidents (Sev0, Sev1) and participate in technical reviews of incidents for problem management.
- Problem Management: populate and participate in RCAs and hand them off to the Global Solutions team.
- Ensure that work carried out by the Site Reliability team stays in sync with the company’s internal compliance policy and directives.
- Focus on tactical operations as well as large-scale production engineering and orchestration. Participate in destructive testing and game day exercises to validate resiliency.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in site reliability or production engineering with a track record in incident response and maintenance of highly available services.
- Ability to manage Sev0/Sev1 incidents and perform technical incident reviews for problem management.
- Experience with RCA creation and collaboration with global teams on problem resolution.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements and the ability to align work with internal policies and directives.
- Strong interest in monitoring, automation, self-healing, resiliency initiatives, and hands-on production engineering.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
