About the Role Join Riot Games as a Systems Engineer in the Esports Event Technology (EET) Team to design, support, and evolve the infrastructure, tooling, and applications powering Riot’s global esports events. You’ll work in a cross-functional, self-guiding team to ensure Riot’s esports infrastructure scales to support initiatives worldwide, with travel to events as needed.
What You'll Do
- Act as the SME for core infrastructure systems, platforms, and services
- Design, support and evolve our global esports infrastructure
- Collaborate within a diverse, cross functional team across engineering and operations
- Develop technical standards and enable operations teams through documentation, automation, and coaching
- Participate in global event support as needed, including occasional non standard working hours
- Travel 10-40% depending on event schedules and business needs
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years as a Systems, Support or Infrastructure Engineering roles
- Experience with Ansible and Terraform for automation and configuration management
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, AHV)
- Experience designing and operating containerized workloads (Docker)
- Experience with imaging and deployment tools (FOG, SCCM, Autopilot)
- Expertise in Linux and Windows systems
- Track record of reducing operational toil through automation
Nice to Have
- Experience building or maintaining global infrastructure, systems at scale
- Experience defining and implementing monitoring, alerting, and observability standards
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience using Git for version control
- Experience with operating infrastructure in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Relevant certifications such as RHCE or RHCSA, or equivalent hands-on experience, are a plus
