Systems Engineer, Journeyman

About the Role Systems Engineer, Journeyman will provide critical systems engineering support to PMA-261’s CH-53K Capabilities Integration Team at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The role involves technical research and development of emerging technologies, system analysis, and documentation to integrate new capabilities into CH-53K Block upgrades. What You'll Do

• Provide systems engineering technical support to PMA-261’s CH-53K Capabilities Integration Team.
• Conduct technical research and analysis of emerging technologies at low TRLs to create advanced capabilities roadmaps for CH-53K Engineering Review Board.
• Approximately 75% of effort will involve pre-work to downselect emerging technologies to fill identified gaps and identify material/non-material solutions.
• Provide recommendations for the most impactful maturing technologies to be included in bi-annual CH-53K Block upgrades.
• Analyze technology TRLs maturation timelines, review Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs) and SWAP requirements.
• Approximately 25% of effort will be post-award work to perform System-of-Systems integration and horizontal integration across Level II IPTs.
• Coordinate engineering change proposals (ECPs), technical directives, and updates.
• Apply systems engineering methods and tools to solve engineering problems and guide development of modern complex systems. What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field and five years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in an engineering discipline.
• Experience developing technology roadmaps; TRL analysis.
• Desired: Science & Technology familiarity.
• Strong customer relations, analytics, and documentation skills.
• Self-starter, highly motivated, with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced, team-oriented environment; able to work independently; multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Active Secret Security Clearance. Nice to Have
• Science & Technology (S&T) familiarity.
• Experience with CH-53K or similar heavy-lift helicopter programs. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $100,000 – $145,000 per year.
