Systems Engineer, Journeyman

About the Role

KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced, and highly motivated Systems Engineer, Journeyman to join our team. This position will be onsite in Pax River, MD. The role will support the Systems Engineering Department (SED) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, providing systems engineering support of weapons systems across platforms, including technical research and development, analysis, and documentation as part of the acquisition of Aircraft, Weapons, and Integrated Systems and the evaluation of their technical performance, mission suitability and associated acquisition risks throughout the full acquisition process and lifecycle of a program.

What You'll Do

• Provide engineering and acquisition support to the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) in the management of the T-6B Texan II – the primary fixed-wing training aircraft for the U.S. Navy's undergraduate pilot training program (PMA-273).

• Support systems engineering activities related to sustainment, upgrades, and safety of the T-6B Texan II.

• Monitor system performance, integration and airworthiness.

• Coordinate with stakeholders across NAVAIR, training squadrons, and contractors to ensure fleet readiness and training mission effectiveness.

• Contribute to risk management, technical documentation, and compliance with acquisition standards.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university. Three (3) years of recent and relevant experience.

• Clearance: U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain an Active Secret Security Clearance.

• Nice to Have

• Fixed-Wing Aviation Experience: familiarity with aircraft systems, flight training operations, or acquisition support for fixed-wing aircraft.

• Knowledge of systems engineering processes and naval acquisition lifecycle.

• Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $100,000 to $145,000 per year.
