About the Role OHB System AG is seeking a Systems Engineer for Exploration, Space Safety and Space Transportation in Bremen. You will lead holistic systems engineering of complex space missions from concept to verification, translating customer and mission requirements into structured specifications and architectural definitions, and coordinating across subsystems and external partners. What You'll Do
- Lead holistic systems engineering of complex space missions from concept phases through verification, translating requirements into structured specifications and architectural definitions.
- Derive and manage requirements down to subsystem and equipment level using DOORS; support trade-offs and shape mission/system architecture.
- Contribute to design and development of space systems, from mission analysis to subsystem specifications.
- Coordinate technical activities across subsystems and internal stakeholders; manage requirement changes and assess impact.
- Act as a key interface to subcontractors (on behalf of the Project Chief Engineer or Project Manager) as well as to external partners, including industry and ESA.
- Support system design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR), verification planning, and monitoring requirement compliance.
- Contribute to defining verification strategies, preparing test specifications and evaluating test results.
- Support the implementation of design changes (e.g. RFWs, RFDs, NCRs) and contribute to proposals for future exploration missions. What We're Looking For
- A degree (Diploma or Master) in aerospace engineering or a comparable qualification with a solid foundation in systems engineering.
- Experience in requirements analysis, specification development and the definition of system architectures, ideally with knowledge of interface management.
- Practical experience in areas such as exploration, space safety or space transportation is a strong asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in international, interdisciplinary teams within structured project environments.
- Creative, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to navigate complex challenges.
- Confidence communicating in English; German language skills are an advantage. Compensation & Benefits
