Systems Analyst

Smithville Communications is seeking a Systems Analyst to join our Information Systems team. Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, this role bridges business needs and technology solutions.

You'll support and enhance enterprise systems, integrations, reporting, and operational processes while partnering with business and technical teams to ensure systems remain reliable, efficient, and aligned with organizational goals.

This on-site role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working with data, connecting systems, and improving how work gets done.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Business Intelligence & Reporting (30%)

• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, visualizations, and KPIs that support operational and strategic decision-making.

• Build and support business intelligence solutions, data models, and reporting frameworks.

• Design and maintain ETL processes, data warehouses, and reporting environments.

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems.

• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, analytics, and data visibility.

• Systems Integrations & Automation (30%)

• Develop and support system integrations using APIs, middleware, ETL tools, and related technologies.

• Troubleshoot, monitor, and enhance integrations to ensure reliability and performance.

• Translate technical requirements into scalable, supportable solutions.

• Partner with architecture and engineering teams to establish integration standards and best practices.

• Identify automation opportunities that improve efficiency and streamline workflows.

• System Support & Technical Analysis (20%)

• Configure, deploy, support, and document enterprise applications and third-party platforms.

• Troubleshoot complex issues involving systems, integrations, and data pipelines.

• Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and recommend technical solutions.

• Provide guidance on system behavior, integrations, and data flows.

• Evaluate technologies and support testing, deployment, and change management activities.

• Maintain documentation for systems, integrations, configurations, and operational processes.

• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement (10%)

• Collaborate with developers, architects, vendors, analysts, and business teams to deliver effective solutions.

• Participate in cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Recommend enhancements that improve reliability, scalability, maintainability, and user experience.

• Support documentation, governance, and operational standards.

• Other Duties as Assigned (10%)

• WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.

• Experience supporting enterprise systems, integrations, reporting platforms, or business intelligence solutions.

• Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, ETL processes, and data structures.

• Experience with APIs, middleware platforms, and integration technologies.

• Understanding of reporting architecture, data management, and analytics concepts.

• Proven troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Telecommunications industry experience or experience with enterprise SaaS platforms is preferred.

• Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools is preferred.

• Understanding of systems analysis, testing, deployment, and documentation practices.

• WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This position is based in a climate-controlled office environment. A standard 40-hour workweek is typical, with occasional additional hours as business needs require.

• The role involves regular computer use and fine motor skills, along with periods of sitting, standing, walking, and reaching. Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds may be required.
