Systems Administrator

We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join an IT team in Dania Beach, Florida in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role is ideal for a hands-on infrastructure specialist who can strengthen day-to-day operations across server administration, virtualization, backup, and recovery. The position focuses heavily on Hyper-V while also supporting VMware ESXi, Veeam, Windows Server, and core cloud, security, and networking functions.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support virtual server environments with a strong emphasis on Hyper-V, ensuring reliable performance and timely issue resolution.

• Maintain and troubleshoot VMware ESXi infrastructure as part of a mixed virtualization environment.

• Manage backup, restore, and recovery processes using Veeam to protect business-critical systems and data.

• Oversee Windows Server administration, including system maintenance, patching, performance monitoring, and operational support.

• Contribute to disaster recovery readiness by validating recovery procedures and responding to infrastructure incidents when needed.

• Support core cloud, security, and networking operations to help maintain a stable and secure production environment.

• Investigate outages and infrastructure problems, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.

• Lead or contribute to infrastructure improvements, migrations, and operational projects while documenting work performed and outcomes achieved.

• Proven experience administering and troubleshooting Hyper-V in a production environment.

• Hands-on background working with VMware ESXi as part of enterprise infrastructure support.

• Practical experience with Veeam backup, restore, and disaster recovery activities.

• Strong administration skills across Microsoft Windows Server environments.

• Working knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Windows 10 support within an enterprise setting.

• Experience supporting cloud platforms, security practices, and core networking concepts.

• Ability to independently manage production infrastructure issues and clearly explain personally owned technical projects and resolutions.
