SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER

LOCATION: Dahlgren, VA

JOB STATUS: Full-time

CLEARANCE: TOP SECRET

CERTIFICATION: N/A

TRAVEL: Limited; as needed

Astrion has five (5) contingent openings for Systems Administrator IIs supporting U.S. Navy enterprise information technology operations located in Dahlgren, VA. This position will provide on-site administration, maintenance, security, and technical support for Windows-based networks, servers, software systems, and associated infrastructure.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

• Must be a US Citizen
• Four or more years of professional experience administering Windows networks, operating systems, and software systems.
• Must possess an active DoD Top Secret security clearance and be able to maintain the required clearance and background-investigation eligibility
• Must maintain compliance with applicable DoD Cyber Workforce requirements, including the required Information Assurance Technician Level II designation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administer and maintain Windows networks, servers, operating systems, and software applications supporting mission-critical Navy operations.

• Install, configure, and sustain computer hardware, Windows operating systems, Commercial Off-the-Shelf software, network accounts, and system services.

• Perform system backup and recovery, software management, security management, library management, and resource allocation.

• Monitor system configurations, availability, capacity, and performance; conduct system sizing, tuning, and optimization.

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, network, and user-access issues.

• Maintain proficiency with network protocols, including TCP/IP, and support secure connectivity within enterprise network environments.

• Configure and maintain network security tools, including firewalls, antivirus capabilities, and intrusion-detection services.

• Identify and respond to computing and networking vulnerabilities using current detection and mitigation methods.

• Develop system specifications, technical documentation, operating procedures, and configuration records.

• Conduct market research and support procurement activities for hardware, software, and related IT resources.

• Assist customers with information technology issues and provide instruction on applicable computer systems and applications.

• Four or more years of professional experience administering Windows networks, operating systems, and software systems.

• Windows system administration.

• System backup and recovery.

• Hardware and software installation and configuration.

• Security and software-management practices.

• System sizing, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and resource allocation.

• TCP/IP and other enterprise network protocols.

• Firewalls and other network-security tools.

• Computing and networking vulnerabilities and detection methods.

• Must meet DoD Information Assurance Technician Level II workforce requirements.

• Must be able to support full-time, on-site performance in Dahlgren, VA.

• DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.

• CompTIA Security+ certification.

• Additional certifications or training such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, VMware Certified Professional, or comparable Microsoft, virtualization, networking, or cybersecurity credentials.

• Experience supporting DoD or U.S. Navy information technology environments.

• Experience developing system specifications and conducting technical market research for IT procurements.

• Experience operating within configuration-management, cybersecurity, and change-control processes.
