About the Role
UDRI seeks a Sustainment Technician - Additive Manufacturing Specialist to support sustainment activities in advanced manufacturing and repair. This role serves as a lab technician for additive manufacturing, responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment, managing consumables and spare parts, and ensuring compliance with lab and equipment guidelines. The successful candidate will combine additive manufacturing and conventional machining knowledge to support government and industry partners. What You'll Do

Set up, operate, and maintain additive manufacturing equipment.

Manage consumables and spare parts inventory and ensure accurate tracking.

Adhere to lab and equipment guidelines, policies, and safety procedures.

Support government customers as the primary focus, with some work for industry partners.

Demonstrate understanding of additive manufacturing and conventional machining techniques, equipment setup, and processing.

Collaborate with design engineers and other technical staff as needed. What We're Looking For

T2 minimum requirements: High school graduation or 3 years equivalent related manufacturing or technology experience; experience working in a manufacturing environment; experience operating or maintaining equipment; 3 years experience operating conventional or numerically controlled equipment in a manufacturing or repair setting; 1 year experience using 3D printers (preparing and slicing models and creating print files); experience using precision measurement equipment (outside micrometers, dial calipers, and feeler gauges); attention to detail; U.S. citizen.

T3 minimum requirements (if applicable): 8 years experience operating conventional or numerically controlled equipment in a manufacturing or repair setting; 3 years experience using 3D printers, preparing and slicing models and creating build files.

U.S. citizen required due to federal contracts. Nice to Have

2+ years of experience operating and maintaining Stratasys polymer or EOS metal additive manufacturing equipment.

Experience in lab environments and adherence to lab policies & procedures.

Experience using CAD/CAM software packages.

Experience interacting with design engineers and/or other technical personnel.

Effective verbal communication skills with team members at all levels.
