About the Sustainability Reporting Manager Role

The successful candidate will manage reporting delivery for a portfolio of more than 25 corporate clients. The role covers several sustainability frameworks, including CDP questionnaires, EcoVadis assessments, SBTi commitments, TCFD-aligned disclosures and CSRD-aligned reporting.

This is primarily a delivery-focused position. The manager will oversee reporting projects from initial planning through submission and score review. Responsibilities will include defining project scope, establishing reporting calendars, collecting supporting evidence, drafting responses, reviewing information and submitting completed disclosures through the relevant platforms.

The position also requires strong client relationship management. The manager will serve as a trusted adviser to clients, helping them understand reporting requirements, identify information gaps and prepare for submission deadlines.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Reporting and collaborate with the carbon accounting, product and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage Sustainability Reporting from Start to Finish

The Sustainability Reporting Manager will oversee the preparation and submission of sustainability disclosures across a portfolio of more than 25 corporate clients.

Key activities will include:

  • Managing CDP questionnaires, EcoVadis assessments and SBTi commitments.
  • Supporting decarbonisation roadmaps and TCFD-aligned narrative reports.
  • Coordinating CSRD-aligned disclosures.
  • Translating framework requirements into project plans, evidence lists, responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Reviewing previous-year submissions and assessment feedback to identify gaps.
  • Drafting and reviewing responses to ensure accuracy, completeness and alignment with scoring requirements.
  • Managing reporting calendars and quality reviews to ensure submissions are completed on time.

2. Provide Guidance and Support to Clients

The manager will act as the primary adviser to client stakeholders throughout the reporting process. These may include sustainability, legal, procurement, human resources and executive teams.

The role will involve explaining requirements clearly, setting expectations, identifying the evidence clients need to provide and following up on outstanding information.

The manager will also provide regular updates on project progress, potential risks and upcoming deadlines. After submissions have been assessed, the successful candidate will help clients understand their results and develop prioritised improvement plans for future reporting cycles.

The position requires the ability to handle challenging conversations professionally, including discussions about missed deadlines, lower-than-expected scores and incomplete data.

3. Improve Reporting Processes and Workflows

Greenplaces wants to make sustainability reporting more efficient and consistent. The manager will therefore help develop and maintain templates, checklists, response libraries and workflows.

The role will also involve working with the carbon accounting team to ensure emissions data is presented in the format required by relevant reporting frameworks.

In addition, the manager will share practical feedback with the Product and Engineering teams. This will help identify where reporting processes can be improved through better software features, automated guidance and more efficient workflows.

This may include joining discovery and project-scoping calls, explaining sustainability reporting requirements, discussing scoring processes and helping prospective clients understand what a realistic reporting cycle involves.

The manager will also help ensure that proposed client engagements are accurately scoped and that delivery commitments can be achieved.

5. Monitor Changes in Sustainability Reporting

Sustainability reporting standards and regulations continue to evolve. The manager will be expected to remain informed about developments affecting corporate disclosures.

Greenplaces specifically highlights the importance of keeping up with:
