Survey Crew Chief

Dynotec is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations in conducting accurate and efficient land surveys across Central Ohio. The ideal candidate will oversee field operations, manage team members, verify precision survey data, and collaborate directly with project managers and clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Field Leadership: Lead and supervise field survey crews on boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys. Survey Computations: Perform and verify survey calculations including traverse closures, level loops, and coordinate geometry.

• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain advanced survey equipment including total stations, GPS units, and digital data collectors.

• Documentation: Accurately document field notes, sketches, and digital data for project deliverables and legal reference.

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols, daily HSAP reviews, and adherence to OSHA and company standards.

• Mentorship & Collaboration: Train junior crew members on equipment/procedures; coordinate with PMs, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues.

• Project Oversight: Monitor project budgets, timelines, timekeeping, field expenses, and equipment maintenance.

Requirements

• Education: Associate degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field (Higher education preferred).

• Experience: 3+ years in land surveying with at least 1 year leading/managing projects.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and data software. Drone license preferred.

• Physical Requirements: Comfortable in an outdoor environment; able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly (80 lbs. occasionally).

• Licensure: Valid driver's license required.

• Leadership: Strong communication and crew management capabilities.
