About the Role As a site superintendent for Ganotec's industrial projects, you will play a key role in project success. You will supervise field operations, manage organization, work methods, planning, cost control, adherence to plans and specs, and task allocation, directly or through foremen, while developing positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors and field staff. Ganotec offers opportunities to travel and contribute to major projects from start to finish. What You'll Do
- Supervise and mentor junior superintendents
- Review and approve the balance of labor rates for foremen, journeymen and workers
- Manage contract administration (subcontractor and site management meetings)
- Develop programs to maintain positive client relations involving field staff
- Organize and participate in regular client meetings to resolve issues and plan
- Oversee and approve monthly project cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
- Review, approve and negotiate change orders
- Develop and implement project completion and handover plans
- Maintain a daily log for archival purposes
- Ensure performance evaluations of direct reports are completed on time
- Recommend changes to organization, policies, procedures or staffing when appropriate
- Review and approve or reject promotions up to the general foreman What We're Looking For
- At least 8 years of construction experience, including at least 3 years as a mechanical/plumbing or electrical superintendent
- Autonomous, highly motivated, able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to learn and understand Kiewit policies, procedures and software quickly
- Strong organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership, safety, negotiation, planning and contract administration experience
- Fluent in French (written and spoken). Functional English is an asset due to mobility across Canadian provinces
- Willingness to relocate or travel as required; courses may be offered as needed Nice to Have
- Regular attendance and reliability; ability to work overtime and weekends as required
