Job title: Surgical Technologist
About the Role Logan Health Whitefish Birth Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Labor & Delivery surgical team during obstetric procedures, including cesarean sections and postpartum surgeries. You will prepare OB-specific instruments, maintain the sterile field, anticipate the needs of the surgeon, and collaborate with OB/GYNs, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other team members to deliver patient-centered care.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and arrange OB-specific surgical instruments and equipment for cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and assist the team in providing efficient and safe care.
- Maintain a sterile field and follow aseptic technique.
- Collaborate with OB/GYNs, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other team members to deliver patient-centered care.
- Assist in patient transfer and post-op care with professionalism and compassion.
- Participate in surgical counts and assist with specimen handling.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist or AST Certification.
- Current AHA BLS Certification (or must be obtained within 2 months of hire).
- Experience in obstetric or women’s health surgical settings (preferred).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to remain calm in emergent situations.
- Professional, compassionate approach to patient care—especially during childbirth and postpartum.
Nice to Have
- OB-specific experience in obstetric surgery.
- Hospital experience with a variety of cases.
- Certification through the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) preferred.
